Petro Rabigh Celebrates Its Inauguration |

November 2009: Under the Auspices
of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, the Minister of Petroleum and Mineral
Resources, Mr. Ali I. Al-Nuaimi, opened the inauguration ceremony held by Rabigh Refining & Petrochemical
Company (Petro
Rabigh) which took place at the Company’s
grounds on Sunday, November 8, 2009 to mark the launching of its refining and petrochemical
operations as a strategic joint venture between Saudi Aramco and the Japanese company,
Sumitomo Chemical.

The Ceremony was attended by Saudi Aramco President & CEO, Mr. Khalid Al Falih;
Sumitomo Chemical President & CEO, Mr. Hiromasa Yonekura; and special envoy
from the Japanese government, Mr. Tetsundo Iwakuni. The Ceremony was also attended
by a large number of ministers, businessmen and investors, and by 250 delegates
from Japan’s various petrochemical and banking sectors.
Petro Rabigh inauguration marks the Kingdom successful efforts and future plans
to diversify the economy and income resources, and to create new job opportunities
for the Saudi citizens. Petro Rabigh is expected to play an effective role in fostering
the economy by supporting the emerging conversion industry and providing promising
investment opportunities.
