Osamu Ishitobi

Non-Executive Director

Osamu Ishitobi graduated from the Department of Mathematical Engineering and Information at the University of Tokyo, Japan, with a Bachelor’s degree in 1967 and a Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering in 1969. He joined Sumitomo Chemical Co., Ltd. in 1969. He was appointed as General Manager of the Corporate Planning Office in 1993 and General Manager of Planning and Coordination Office of the Petrochemicals & Plastics Sector, in 1994. In 1998, he was promoted to Director and General Office Manager, and in 2000, he became Director and General Manager of the Petrochemicals Division. In 2002, he was appointed as Managing Director and General Manager of the Petrochemicals Division. Ishitobi was appointed Managing Executive Officer in 2003 and Director and Senior Managing Executive Officer in 2005. In 2008, Mr. Ishitobi was promoted to Director and Executive Vice President of Sumitomo Chemical.
